Comprimo Privacy Policy

Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Comprimo, a video compression app for iPhone and iPad developed by Idion, handles your videos and your information. It applies specifically to the Comprimo app, not to other Idion products.

The short version: Comprimo works entirely on your device. It has no account, no servers of its own, no analytics and no ads, and it does not collect any information about you.

What we collect

Nothing. Comprimo does not collect, transmit or store any personal information on our side, and there is no Idion server that the app talks to.

To work, the app keeps a small amount of information on your device only: your compression settings, the total amount of storage you have saved, whether you have seen the introduction screens, when the launch offer started, and a single yes or no flag, stored in your device's Keychain, recording whether you have used your free compression. None of this leaves your device, and none of it identifies you.

This is the complete list of what Comprimo keeps today. If that changes as the app grows, this policy will be updated first, and the "last updated" date above will reflect it.

What we do not collect

To be specific rather than leave this to inference: Comprimo does not collect your name, email address, contacts, location, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, usage analytics, crash reports, or any part of your videos. It contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking code of any kind.

If any of this changes in a future version of the app, we will update this policy before that change ships, not after.

Your videos

When you choose a video, Comprimo makes a temporary copy inside the app so it can compress it using your device's built-in video hardware. The video is never uploaded anywhere. The temporary copies are deleted when you start over and each time the app launches.

Videos often carry metadata such as the date they were recorded, the location and the camera details. By default Comprimo keeps this metadata in the compressed copy, so Photos sorts it correctly. You can choose to strip it before saving, for example before sharing a video with someone. Either way, this metadata is processed only on your device and is never sent to us.

Photos access

You pick videos from Photos with the system picker, which gives Comprimo only the video you select. It does not need access to the rest of your library, and Comprimo does not scan or index your library.

Comprimo asks for permission to add to your library only when you save a compressed copy to Photos. It asks for full library access only if you choose to delete the original video after saving, and iOS asks you to confirm every deletion. Comprimo never deletes anything without that confirmation.

If you decline either permission, you can still compress videos and save them to Files instead.

Files and drag and drop

Videos you open from the Files app, or drag onto Comprimo, are accessed only for as long as it takes to copy them into the app for compression. Compressed copies you save to Files go only to the location you choose.

How we use information

The information Comprimo keeps on your device is used only to make the app work: to remember your settings, to show how much space you have saved, to decide whether to show the introduction screens and the launch offer, and to give each device one free compression. We do not use it for any other purpose, and we cannot see it.

Purchases

Comprimo offers a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks unlimited compressions. There is no subscription. Payment is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. **We never see or store your payment details**, and we do not receive your Apple Account information. The app checks whether you own the unlock using the purchase records Apple provides on your device.

Third-party services

Comprimo does not use any third-party services to process your information. The only other party involved is Apple, which provides the App Store, handles purchases and distributes the app, under Apple's own privacy policy.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone, because we do not have it.

Security

Because your videos and settings never leave your device, they are protected by your device's own security, including its passcode and encryption. The free-compression flag is stored in the Keychain and is kept on this device only, out of iCloud Keychain and backups.

Data retention

We retain nothing, because we collect nothing. On your device, temporary video copies are deleted when you start over and when the app launches. Deleting Comprimo removes its settings and saved-space total. The free-compression flag is designed to remain in the Keychain after the app is deleted, so that reinstalling does not grant a second free compression; it contains no personal information.

International transfers

Comprimo does not transfer your information anywhere, so no international transfer takes place.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or export the information held about you, or to object to how it is processed. Since Comprimo does not collect personal information, we hold nothing about you to access, correct or delete. You can remove everything the app keeps on your device by deleting the app.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California, or another jurisdiction with its own data protection law, you keep every right that law gives you. Nothing in this policy reduces them. For any question or request, contact us using the details on our Contact page.

Children's privacy

Comprimo is not directed at children, and it does not collect information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Comprimo evolves. We will update the "last updated" date above when we do, and for material changes we will make a reasonable effort to notify you.
